INTRODUCTION:

By the grace of Allah and the Holy Prophet ( ) and the sincere prayers of Mufti Azam Shah Muhammad Mazharullah the chalipha-i-Mas‘ud-i-Millat Maulana Jawed Iqbal Mazhari founded Imam-i-Rabbani Foundation (International) in 2002 in Karachi (Sindh, Pakistan) under the patronship of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mas‘ud Ahmed. This foundation is purely non-political.

On 30th May 2002, the followers and devotees of Mas‘ud-i-Millat held a meeting in which on the move of Maulana Jawed Iqbal Mazhari, Hazrat Sahibzada Abul Suroor Muhammad Masroor Ahmed was elected as the Chairman of Imam Rabbani Foundation. The Chairman thereafter appointed Moulana Jawaid Iqbal as Chief Executive of Imam-i-Rabbani Foundation. The working committee of Imam-i-Rabbani Foundation includes the following.

 

The aims and the objectives of the foundation are as follows:

• To publish a collection of research articles on the personal life and services of Hazrat Mujaddid Alf-i-Thani.

• To translate the literature about Hazrat Mujaddid Alf-i-Thani in the international and regional languages.
   

• To unite the Muslim Ummah in the light of his teachings.
   

• To highlight the advance research work on Hazrat Mujaddid Alf-i-Thani in International Universities.
   

• To publish an encyclopedia encompassing the life histories, services, teachings of saint of Naqshbandiyya and Mujaddidiyya chain.
   

• To impart the teachings of Imam-i-Rabbani and the love of the Holy Prophet ( ).
   

• To hold annual Imam-i-Rabbani Conferences and issue a journal “Yadgar-i-Majaddid”.
   

• To have communication with Naqshbandiyya, Mujaddidiyya scholars on international level.

The Imam-i-Rabbani Foundation started a tremendous work of compiling a great encyclopedia on the life and services of Imam-i-Rabbani Mujaddid Alf-i-Thani with title of Jahan-i-Imam-i-Rabbani in 2002. Seven volumes had been published in 2005 and Five more volumes will be published upto January 2007, Insha Allah. Alhamdullilah! After publication of Seven Volumes of Jahan-i-Imam-i-Rabbani Mujaddid Alf-i-Thani reached within a short time to far of lands like China, America, Russia, Australia, Canada, Mauritious, India, Bangladesh etc. and was welcomed whole heartedly in the world.

The followings assisted Mas‘ud-i-Millat in this great task:- Sahibzada Abul Suroor Muhammad Masroor Ahmed, Jawed Iqbal Mazhari, Dr. Iqbal Ahmed Akhtarul Qadir, Haji Mirajuddin Mas‘udi, Haji Muhammad Ilyas Mas‘udi, Haji Muhammad Aslam Mas‘udi, Dr. Safiuddin Siddiqi Mas‘udi, Syed Shoaib Iftikhar Mas‘udi and Syed Muhammad Mansoor Mas‘udi. Dr Iqbal Ahmed Ikhtarul Qadri performed an important role in compiling Jahan-i-Imam-i-Rabbani Mujaddid Alf-i-Thani. Mr. Muhammad Mukhtar Alam Haq reviewed the whole script.

To celebrate this great event, a thanks giving conference was held on Sunday, 10th April 2005 which was presided by the Honourable guest, Mufti Azam Hind and Imam Masjid-i-Fatahpuri, Dehli (India) Mufti Dr. Muhammad Mukarram Ahmed. This conference was attended by Honourable Scholars from within the country and from aboard. After wards the conferences were held on 24th April 2005 at Lahore and on 31st March 2006 at Delhi.

After having completed the encyclopedia, the other priorities expressed above in the aims and objectives, will be taken into account. Previously the Imam-i-Rabbani Foundation published the valuable research work Seerat-i-Mujaddid Alf-i-Thani by Dr. Muhammad Mas‘ud Ahmed (Karachi, 2005) another valuable work will shortly be started on the biography of Mufti Azam Shah Muhammad Mazharullah ( ) this work will be complied by the following:

i) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mas‘ud Ahmed
ii) Prof. Dr. Syed Muhammad Arif
iii) Abul Suroor Muhammad Masroor Ahmed
iv) Maulana Jawed Iqbal Mazhari
v) Dr. Iqbal Ahmed Akhtarul Qadri.

Insha Allah ‘Tala the research work and other academic activities of Imam-i-Rabbani Foundation will go on.
